How to Make Your Home Postman-Friendly

If your postman makes regular visits to your home, it would be nice if you tried to make your place postman-friendly. Being a postman is not an easy job. They spend hours going door to door, carrying heavy bags filled with letters and packages. The least you can do is to make their jobs a bit easier by making your home a pleasant place to visit. One thing you can do is to keep the entrance to your home clean and free from clutter. If the pathway leading to your gate or door is quite slippery, make sure to post warning signs.

Keep your garden or lawn in good condition. Beautiful plants and flowers are a lovely sight to behold and they can refresh one’s spirits. If you have dogs, have the courtesy to place “Beware of Dog” signs on your property. Make sure that they are easily seen. If you know that a postman will be making a visit on that day, keep your dogs in the house, or keep them tied to a leash until after the postman has made his visit.

Finally, be polite to the postman. It does not take much effort to flash a smile and ask how they are doing. If they look quite exhausted, offer them a glass of water. Simple acts of kindness can make a huge difference in their day and perhaps even ease away feelings of exhaustion. You and the postman might even become good friends! By keeping your home postman-friendly and by treating these hard-working people with respect and friendliness, you can be sure that your neighbourhood postman will always be eager to deliver your much awaited letters and packages on time.
